Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a Moroccan cooking class or food experience in Marrakech.

General Questions

What is the best cooking class in Marrakech?

It depends on what you're looking for. For a well-rounded introduction, our Moroccan Cooking Class covers a full menu — salads, tagine and bread — in three hours. If you'd like to shop for ingredients yourself first, the Cooking Class with Souk Market Tour adds a guided market visit. Couples, families and small groups who want their own chef usually prefer the Private Cooking Class.

How much does a Marrakech cooking class cost?

Small-group cooking classes generally start around €40-€55 per person for a hands-on class of 2.5 to 4 hours that includes a full meal. Dish-focused classes (like our tagine or couscous class) sit at the lower end, while classes that include a souk market tour cost a little more. Private classes are priced per person but dedicate the chef and kitchen entirely to your group.

What dishes can I learn to cook in Marrakech?

Most classes cover Moroccan staples such as tagine (chicken, lamb or vegetable), traditional Moroccan salads like zaalouk and taktouka, and Moroccan bread. Dish-focused workshops go deeper into a single subject — our couscous class teaches traditional hand-steaming, and our pastry workshop covers briouats, ghriba cookies and Moroccan mint tea.

Are Marrakech cooking classes suitable for beginners?

Yes. Our classes are designed for home cooks with little to no prior experience — most guests have never cooked Moroccan food before. Your chef explains each step in plain language, and the pace stays relaxed rather than rushed. No knife skills or prior cooking knowledge are required.

Booking & Cancellations

How do I book a cooking class in Marrakech?

Choose your experience, then use the Book Your Cooking Class button on that page or message us directly on WhatsApp with your preferred date, group size and any dietary needs. We'll confirm availability and send meeting point details ahead of your class.

What is your cancellation policy?

Most classes offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time, since ingredients are purchased fresh each morning. Private classes require 48 hours' notice given the dedicated planning involved. Exact terms are listed on each experience page.

Dietary Requirements

Can you accommodate vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diets?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan versions of most classes are available, and gluten-conscious adjustments can usually be made. Private classes offer the most flexibility since the whole menu is built around your group. Please mention dietary needs when you book so ingredients can be planned in advance.

Logistics & Groups

Do you offer hotel or riad pickup?

Pickup can often be arranged for an additional fee depending on where you're staying in Marrakech. Ask about pickup when you confirm your booking on WhatsApp and we'll let you know what's possible for your location.

What languages are the classes taught in?

Our hosts teach in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. Let us know your preferred language when booking so we can match you with the right chef.

How large are the group cooking classes?

Group classes are kept small, typically between 2 and 12 people, so your chef can give everyone hands-on attention. If you'd prefer your own group only, our private cooking class removes other travelers entirely.
